Position Summary
Badael is seeking a Finance and admin Assistant to support the Finance and Administration Department. The Finance and admin Assistant will be responsible for processing payments, updating financial records, and managing invoices. To succeed in this role, you should have a strong understanding of accounting and financial principles, good organisational skills, and practical knowledge of accounting software. The Finance and Administration Assistant should also demonstrate integrity, excellent numerical skills, and a strong understanding of data privacy standards.

Reports to: Finance Officer
Key Responsibilities
The Finance and Admin Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Coordinate and maintain financial records and transactions in Syria.
- Prepare invoices and purchase receipts, ensuring compliance with Badael’s policies.
- Manage petty cash transactions and conduct monthly reconciliations with the Finance Officer.
- Manage cash advances and financial settlements for projects.
- Assist in reviewing and conducting audits of financial data and reports.
- Collect and enter data into various financial spreadsheets.
- Oversee donor and project financial accounts.
- Collect and review data for reports.
- Prepare payments for project staff and suppliers.
- Report any concerning findings or suspected misconduct to the relevant authorities.
- Respond to enquiries and provide assistance to stakeholders, staff, and suppliers as needed.
- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing periodic financial reports.
- Support the team in procurement processes, including preparing Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders.
- Negotiate with suppliers and collect quotations.
- Participate in the quotation analysis process and prepare bid analysis reports.
- Assist the Administration Department with day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Propose improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and cost reduction.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- One to two years of experience in finance or accounting (required).
- Good knowledge of the financial and accounting policies and procedures of non-governmental organisations.
- High level of computer literacy, including the ability to use email, Google applications, Microsoft applications, and relevant business and communication tools.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of financial account and ledger management.
- Good organisational skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Fluency in Arabic, English is an added advantage.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
