
Himmat Zoubi

Himmat Zoubi is a Palestinian researcher and a feminist activist. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology, and two Master’s degrees, one in Criminology and another in Gender Studies. Her work focuses on cities and urbanity in the colonial context. She has published several book chapters and articles on gender, cities and settler colonialism, memory and oral history, indigenous knowledge, and resistance. From her research, Himmat has received several awards and grants as a result, among them the Palestinian American Research Center (PARC) fellowship. Currently, she is actively work on a new project, on cultural cities and the creative class between home and exile. She is a fellow at EUME, the Berlin-based Forum for Transregional studies. And during 2020-2022 she is a visiting fellow at Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, affiliated with Center for Middle Eastern and North African studies, freie Universität, and EUME, Berlin.
